A must-see Budapest experience for all generations!
A must-see Budapest experience for all generations!
Over 40 years of dedication...
Over 200 unique art figures...
Over 30,000 hours of craftsmanship...
All in one place, right here in Budapest!
An enchanting journey through time: The textile art exhibition of Rózsa Guba in Budapest is a must-visit for everyone.
At this unique exhibition, the figures—recreated from original historical archives—may not speak, but their handmade outfits tell a thousand stories!
Forget boring museums: this is a magical family time-travel adventure. Fair warning: grandma will be sharing stories for hours, and the grandkids won’t want to leave...
For 45 years, the artist has been creating exquisite textile miniature figures, driven by a continuous inner passion. Even as a child, instead of playing with dolls, she was crafting, building, and collecting unique materials.
This exhibition showcases decades of her craftsmanship, taking you on a journey through history: from the Roman Empire, Renaissance, Baroque, and Victorian eras, all the way to rockabilly and the 1990s. You will also discover authentic European and Hungarian folk costumes, alongside long-forgotten folk traditions. Rather than just stand-alone figures, she creates complex, detailed scenes where every miniature background and accessory is handmade by the artist herself.
Her creations are meticulously modeled based on historical paintings, photographs, and extensive research. Alongside iconic figures like Charlie Chaplin, Albert Einstein, King Henry VIII, and Pumuckl, she has crafted custom figures for films, the Swedish Royal Family, and official state delegations. Her greatest challenge—and signature skill—is sculpting fabric onto 60–70 cm figures, always striving for absolute perfection in every detail.
